EAST LANSING - Michigan State's Allyssa DeHaan is one of 37 participants who have been invited to the USA Basketball women's junior national team trials.
The trials are May 17-20 at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo. Following the trials, finalists will be named for the 12-member USA Basketball under-19 team that will play in the World Championship for Women from July 26-Aug. 5 in Bratislava, Slovakia.
DeHaan, who will be a sophomore this fall, was the Big Ten Freshman of the Year and earned spots on the All-Big Ten Second Team and All-Defensive Team, as well as the Big Ten All-Tournament Team. The 6-foot-9 center set an NCAA freshman record with 145 blocked shots.
