SAGINAW -- Draymond Green will play basketball for Michigan State, a dream of his since grade school.

Green, a 6-foot-6, 230-pound forward from Saginaw High, verbally committed to MSU today at a news conference at the school. He is the Spartans' third commitment for the class of 2008 -- joining power forward Delvon Roe of Euclid, Ohio and guard Korie Lucious of Milwaukee, in a class that likely will be ranked in the top 10 in the nation.

"I hope everyone here is happy with my decision and if not, I had to go with my heart and what it's telling me," Green said.

Green, ranked as the No. 78 player in the nation by Rivals.com, picked MSU over Michigan and Indiana. His commitment wraps up recruiting for 2008. MSU coach Tom Izzo and his staff can spend the rest of the summer focusing on 2009 and beyond.

Izzo can't comment on recruits until they sign binding letters of intent, which they can do this fall.
