Dantonio: 'How long will we continue to bow?'

EAST LANSING - Mark Dantonio said it to his team Sunday, then repeated the message to the media Monday, when asked if he would play up the fact that none of his players have a win against Michigan.

"How long will we continue to bow to the University of Michigan?" Dantonio said. "How's that? We're gonna find out."

The Spartans (5-4 overall, 1-4 Big Ten) and Wolverines (7-2, 5-0) meet at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Spartan Stadium. U-M will be going for its sixth straight win in the series, which would be the longest streak against MSU since the Wolverines won eight straight from 1970-77.

"(Dantonio) has said for a year, you're either gonna win and walk in the streets or lose and walk in the alley," MSU junior quarterback Brian Hoyer said. "When he puts it that way, it kind of sparks you."

MSU senior linebacker SirDarean Adams is listed as a backup on the depth chart for the game. Dantonio said Adams will be a "game-time" decision.

He missed Saturday's loss at Iowa, but Dantonio said that was not related to felony unarmed robbery charges filed last week against Adams, T.J. Williams and Jeremy Ware. Those charges stem from an April incident in Meridian Township.
