Keane shines in World University Games

BELGRADE, Serbia - Michigan State junior Kalisha Keane had eight points on 3-of-4 shooting as Canada finished its competition at the World University Games on Friday with an 80-50 loss to Australia.

Keane, who battled foul trouble, added two rebounds and two assists in the loss. Canada lost all three games.

In Thursday's 90-78 loss to Japan, Keane had 20 points and 12 rebounds, both team-highs. She shot 8-of-15 from the field and added two steals and a blocked shot.

In the opener Wednesday, Keane had 14 rebounds and seven assists in a 85-79 loss to Slovakia.

The U.S. (3-0) advanced to the second round and will meet Poland (2-1) today at 11:30 a.m. MSU coach Suzy Merchant is an assistant for Team USA.
