ANN ARBOR - It's official. Michigan and Michigan State will play an outdoor hockey game at 3 p.m. on Dec. 11 at Michigan Stadium.

The schools on Thursday announced details of the game, which will be known as "The Big Chill at the Big House."
"This will be an unbelievable event," U-M coach Red Berenson said. "Not only is this a great rivalry between two top programs, but for it to be held in the Big House is beyond what any of us have ever dreamt.
"This is finally a reality and it could be the largest crowd ever to witness a hockey game of any kind.''
MSU set the outdoor attendance record when 74,544 fans watched the Spartans and Wolverines play to a 3-3 tie in the Cold War game at Spartan Stadium on Oct. 6, 2001.
TOP RECRUIT PICKS ND: Top Canadian junior defenseman Dillon Simpson, the son of former Spartan and NHL forward Craig Simpson, has committed to play college hockey at North Dakota.
Simpson, 16, picked the Sioux over Michigan State, Denver and Wisconsin.
Simpson is accelerating his high school education to be eligible for college this fall.
