BOCA RATON, Fla. - Michigan State softball coach Jacquie Joseph earned her 500th win on Tuesday as the Spartans defeated Connecticut, 4-1.

"I think it's a great achievement," Joseph said about her milestone. "I love being the head coach here at Michigan State, and I have really enjoyed all of the players over the years."
With the Spartans trailing 1-0 in the top of the third, Jayme O'Bryant knocked home Jessica Bracamonte, and Ali Grant hit in Kylene Hopkins for the go-ahead score.
The Spartans added runs in the fifth and sixth inning.
The Spartans lost the second game of the day, falling to Florida State, 7-0.
The Spartans will play against host Florida International in the FIU Golden Panther Invite at 4 p.m., Friday in Miami.
